Moldova to host first European Digital Innovation Hub: two million euros allocated for digital transformation of enterprises

Moldova has been selected to host its first European Digital Innovation Hub. Under this initiative, an amount of 2 million euros will be invested in the digital transformation of local enterprises.

Thus, the Moldovan government, through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, will contribute 1 million euros to support the digital transformation of local enterprises.

This amount will be supplemented by 1 million euros in European funding, bringing the total investment to 2 million euros. These funds will go directly to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through vouchers and grants for digitalization.

This achievement is the result of a strong partnership between ACETI (Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies) and the Technical University of Moldova (UTM).

“It is clear proof that, when the associative sector and the academic sector join forces, Moldova becomes a relevant player at the European level. Through this hub, we provide resources, expertise and capital, so that innovation is no longer just a concept,” said the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.

The e-Governance Agency has been designated as the National Contact Point for the Digital Europe Programme and will support applicants by guiding them through the application process, providing clarifications on eligibility and  conditions of participation, assisting in the creation of consortia and providing information on calls, events and relevant training.
