Moldova attends EU Enlargement Conference
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov took part today in EU Enlargement Conference, organized by the International Centre for Defence and Security in Estonia. The event brought together European officials and representatives of candidate countries to discuss progress in European integration, the regional geopolitical situation, and the future of the European Union.
During the discussions, Cristina Gherasimov presented Moldova’s experience and the efforts made to prepare institutions and society for accession to the European Union, taking part in debates alongside Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Ervin Ibrahimovic, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, and Jonatan Vseviov, Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
"Moldova is a model candidate state. We are working hard at home to prepare our institutions and our country for EU accession. And for this we are appreciated in European capitals. We will continue to make every effort, because our citizens deserve to live in peace and prosperity," said Gherasimov.
Gherasimov is on a working visit to Tallinn, Estonia, on 12–13 February, to meet Estonian and European officials to discuss the European Union enlargement process, the reforms undertaken by the Republic of Moldova, and the priorities on the European integration agenda.
