Moldovan parliament speaker, Latvian counterpart plant trees in Botanical Garden
Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, along with Speaker of Latvia’s Saeima Edvards Smiltēns, have planted trees at the Alexandru Ciubotaru National Botanical Garden from Chisinau. The action took place as a token of friendship between the two countries, as well as of common solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
In the press statements made following the trees planting event, the two speakers reiterated the mutual support for Ukraine’s efforts to resist Russia’s military aggression and to defend its freedom. The officials noted that this was a fight for the freedom not only of Ukraine, but also of Moldova, as well as of all countries willing to develop peacefully and democratically.
