Moldovan president awards Order of Honour to former Romanian foreign affairs minister
Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today awarded the Order of Honour to the former foreign affairs minister of Romania, Bogdan Aurescu, the presidential press service has reported.
Under the decree, the distinction was provided to the former Romanian diplomacy head, presently adviser on foreign policy of President Klaus Iohannis, as a token of high appreciation of the contribution brought to the consolidation of the relations between Moldova and Romania and also - to the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two states.
After Moldova had submitted the application on accession to the European Union, Bogdan Aurescu placed the country on the agenda of the member states in Brussels continuously and as priority. Thus, he had a significant contribution to the advancement of the country’s European integration way and to the promotion of the common interests within the European Union’s institutions.
