Moldovan president meets Ambassador of Ukraine
Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Marko Shevchenko today, when one year since the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine is marked.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state conveyed condolences to all those who had lost the beloved people during this unjustified war. The Ukrainians enjoys our every admiration for the courage with which they defend their Motherland, defend us and defend the entire European continent from Russia’s aggression, the Moldovan president said.
President Maia Sandu assured Ambassador Shevchenko that Moldova continued to be with the Ukrainian nation in this fight for democracy and freedom. In their dialogue, the interlocutors said that presently the country had to fight also against the propaganda and misinformation. The head of state stressed that we should not let ourselves be deceived and manipulated by those who justify this war, noting that joint efforts would be taken for the truth to be known. At the same time, the officials discussed also the security challenges and about how things might develop in the months to come.
Today evening starting from 19:00, the lights of the Presidency, along with the Parliament and Government buildings will be turned off. Moldova thus joins the #LightUpUkraine campaign, expressing solidarity with Ukraine. Слава Україні!
