Moldovan president pays working visit to central district
Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today paid a working visit to the central Ialoveni district and the Suruceni village, the same district, the presidential press service has reported.
People from the two settlements shared with the head of state their concerns as to the economic and energy situation in which Moldova found itself because of Russia’s war in Ukraine. ‘’I told them that we do our utmost to maintain peace in Moldova and to go through the forthcoming winter well. We work, in order to consolidate the energy independence, including through the use of renewable resources,’’ Maia Sandu said.
During discussions, the head of state explained to small entrepreneurs, employees from the education and culture sectors, elderly people about the programmes on backing the residents through social assistance and diverse types of compensations provided by the government. ‘’I told them also about the financial support provided to the small entrepreneurs from Moldova. I stressed that we want as many as possible successful businesses in Moldova, as the economic development is the only way for us to get rid of poverty,’’ the Moldovan president emphasized.
In the context, the head of state also referred to projects on modernization of settlements, backed through the European Village national programme, from which the people of these two settlements benefit as well. Thus, in Ialoveni, the people will have qualitative sanitation services and in Suruceni, the Community Centre will be capitally reconstructed.
