Moldovan president talked to delegation of French magistrates specialized in recovering criminal assets
Chisinau, April 13 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Nicolas Bessone, Director of the French Agency for Recovery and Management of Seized and Confiscated Assets (AGRASC) on Wednesday, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu said our authorities want to learn from the experience of the French Agency on how to improve the efficiency of the process of recovery of stolen state property. On this occasion, the president said that the government must propose the modification of the legal framework and strengthen the capacity of the institutions to allow an effective recovery of criminal assets and the return of their value to the state budget. The recovered money could be used to finance public services, including for the recovery of the situation in the areas affected by the targeted crimes.
The French state helps our country in the management of assets seized in France and provides expertise to the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) and the Agency for Recovery of Criminal Assets (ARBI) to develop the capacities of the institutions.
