Moldova's parliament speaker meets representatives of Moldovan Diaspora from Belarus
Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, on the sidelines of the official visit to the National Assembly (parliament) of Belarus, today met representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora from this country, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
The discussions were focused mainly on aspects of social protection of the Moldovans settled in Belarus, mutual recognition of driver’s licences and education diplomas, encouraging the involvement in economic projects in the native country, promotion of Moldovans’ cultural values and traditions.
Zinaida Greceanii answered questions by the Diaspora members. At the same time, the speaker informed that she had tackled with Belarusian officials the subject on the construction of Moldova’s Embassy in Minsk. This would enhance the degree of protection of the people born in Moldova from Belarus.
The parliament speaker congratulated the Diaspora on the Easter Holidays and thanked them for the fact that they represented with dignity Moldova in Belarus and the respect for the national Moldovan traditions maintain the solidity of the roots with the native country.
On the period 5-7 May, a Moldovan parliament’s delegation pays an official visit to the National Assembly of Belarus. The delegation is made up of MPs Vasile Bolea and Radu Mudreac, the parliament’s secretary general, Adrian Albu and acting Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju.
