Moldsilva Forestry Agency to afforest land plot of 24 hectares nearby central Moldova village
Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - A plot of farmland of 24 hectares from the Lapusna commune, central Hancesti district, has been transmitted from the property of the Public Property Agency (APP) to the one of the Environment Ministry. The cabinet of ministers approved a decision to this effect today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The land plot, which belonged to the Penitentiary No 7 from Rusca and was for agricultural purposes, was transmitted to the Moldsilva Forestry Agency, in order to regenerate the forest fund. The action fits the government’s project to increase the area of afforested lands by up to 100,000 hectares in the next 10 years, through the planting of trees of any kind on public or private land plots available, especially in degraded areas.
Thus, the Environment Ministry is set to extend the area of forest vegetation in Moldova from 11 to 15 per cent till 2030.
