Foreign Affairs Ministry condemns violation of Moldova’s airspace by five drones
The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) firmly condemned the violation of the airspace of Moldova by five drones, in the context of air attacks launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as the incident involving the discovery on the ground of a flying object near the Chisinau–Basarabeasca route.
According to the MAE, “the unauthorized overflight of our country’s territory represents a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and represents a direct risk to the security of our citizens.”
“The Republic of Moldova condemns the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for our country and the entire region,” the MAE said.
Five drones carried out an unauthorized overflight of the airspace of Moldova on the night of August 27, being detected near the border with Ukraine, in the context of the air attacks launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
At the same time, a flying object was found fallen on the ground near the Chisinau–Basarabeasca route. Law enforcement officers intervened and secured the perimeter.
