Chisinau city hall earmarked 5 million lei for managing refugee wave
Chisinau, March 4 / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau city hall has allocated five million lei from the reserve fund for expenses needed to manage the wave of refugees from Ukraine.
The decision to access the reserve fund of the municipality was taken at the meeting of the Commission for the administration of the reserve fund which took place last night. The accessed financial resources were distributed to the institutions and departments subordinated to the local Chisinau authority. Thus, each price in the capital received one hundred thousand lei, three million lei are destined for the General Directorate for Communal Housing and Planning, 857.5 thousand lei are allocated to the General Directorate for the Protection of Children's Rights and 642.5 thousand lei will goes to the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance.
According to information provided by the Chisinau municipality, the capital's authorities are arranging 44 locations for the accommodation of refugees from Ukraine.
The border police announced that between February 24 and March 3, 136,386 Ukrainian citizens entered the Republic of Moldova, 74,816 of whom left for another country. Central and local authorities provide assistance to 61,570 refugees who remain in Moldova.
