
Ten territorial social assistance agencies to be set up in Moldova
Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS) will take over the duty of coordination of the social assistance system nationally, in the context of the implementation of the social assistance system RESTART. This process will be carried out through ten territorial social assistance agencies, which are to be created and which will be subordinated to MMPS. The cabinet approved a decision to this effect today.
The ten territorial social assistance agencies will be set up according to regions, to which by 3-4 administrative and territorial units will belong. The new entities will ensure the uniform implementation of the social assistance policies in the territory.
Also, the ministry will take over two placement centres and rehabilitation ones for children, subordinated to the Health Ministry, which provide preponderantly social services: Centre of Placement and Rehabilitation for Children of Early Age from the Chisinau city and the Centre of Temporary Placement and Rehabilitation for Chisinau from the Balti municipality.
Also today, the government ruled that the National Social Assistance Agency is to be reorganized and renamed into the Agency for Management of Social Services of High Specialization. The Agency will have, in continuation, status of administrative authority subordinated to the Labour and Social Protection Ministry and will be in charge of the management of social services with high specialization and implementation of the state’s policy in the activity sectors entrusted.
