United States to provide financial assistance to enhance domestic security

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/- The U.S. Department of State has elaborated an amendment to the foreign operations budget for 2015, which sees providing Moldova with 10 million dollars to enhance the domestic security.

Under the document, these means "will help Moldova cope with attempts to its security, as well as develop capacities needed to improve the borders' security."

In particular, the amendment provides for the allocation of 75 million dollars from the budget for the USA's foreign operations for Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, "in order to back the reform of security sector in the regions hit by Russia's recent actions."

Since getting independence, Moldova has benefited from assistance worth over one billion dollars on behalf of the USA for implementation of various projects and programmes.
