Moldovan cabinet approves distribution of financial means for repair of national, local roads

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a programme on the distribution of the road fund money for the national public roads for 2018 and a programme on periodical repair of national public roads (within settlements), local roads, village roads and streets, in order to improve the quality of the roads infrastructure from Moldova.   

Under the programme, 972.4 million lei was provided for national public roads. Most of this sum – 822.8 million lei – will be used for roads’ maintenance, current repair, as well as for the works needed to ensure the road traffic security. At the same time, 149.5 million lei will be earmarked for the reconstruction of national public roads and engineering constructions, co-financing a road for bypassing the Ungheni city, as well as for buying the system of issuance, management, monitoring and control of the electronic vignette.   

As much as 1.6 billion lei is seen for carrying out the provisions of the programme on periodical repair of local public roads, village roads and streets. The activities scheduled will allow improving the quality of roads’ infrastructure in 1,242 Moldovan settlements, which will facilitate including the trade exchanges, will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of economic agents and of the mobility of the labour force in the rural environment.   

The financing of the works of national public roads will be carried out with the money of the road fund and the periodical repair of the national, local, village roads and streets – with state budget means.
