Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/- Over 40 transport units were sent today to the territorial police inspectorates.

The action is part of the reform programme for 2016-2020, supported by the European Union.

The head of the General Police Inspectorate, Alexandru Pinzari, said that all police inspectorates in the country will benefit from new cars. “Through this acquisition we will strengthen our capabilities in the criminal investigation. Thanks to the EU for its support in reforming police,” Pinzari said.

“It is a great joy to find progress in modernization of police in Moldova. There are more problems and difficulties, but we are pleased that surveys show that citizens see change for the better. Following the reform, it is necessary for people to feel the positive results. The cars were purchased from European funds, and the EU is ready to back Moldova for the good of citizens,” Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko said.
