Moldovan premier welcomes launch of First Home state programme

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip has welcomed the launch of the First Home state programme and gave assurances that “it will be a success.” The PM made statements to this effect at a news conference held after the cabinet meeting today.   

“The project has already entered into force. I am happy that we have successfully given it the final touches, as it was ambitious and priority for us. Through this, we want to back young families buy a dwelling and remain in the country. Subsequently, we will come up with different facilities for civil servants. In continuation, we will monitor quite attentively the implementation of the project, so that it is as accessible as possible for young people,” Filip said.      

The First Home programme was launched today; thus, persons willing to buy their own dwelling through this programme will be able to submit applications on financing as of 26 March.

The First Home state programme was elaborated to help young people purchase their first dwelling in more advantageous conditions of crediting, as the state guarantees 50 per cent of the balance of the loan provided. The annual ceiling of the state guarantees and the sum of financial means meant for their fulfillment will be set yearly. A guarantee fund worth 50 million lei has been provided for in the 2018 state budget.   

The programme’s enforcement will be carried out through the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development.  

At the conference, the PM welcomed the increase in pensions by 6.6 per cent, starting from 1 April and the earlier carrying out of the last stages of the pensions’ recalculation.
