Book dedicated to Italian writers launched at Moldova's National Library

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - A book by an Italian writer, Maria Grazia Ferraris, „Luna bufă. Gianni Rodari și Italo Calvino: Lejeritate și Exactitate (Comic Moon. Gianni Rodari and Italo Calvino: Ease and Exactness), translated in Romanian by university lecturer Ecaterina Deleu, was launched at the National Library today, in the context of the marking of the Italian language and culture in April.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, a lecturer at the Moldovan State University’s Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, Ecaterina Deleu, said that this book was the fruit of the work of a creation team, made up of the writer of the book’s preface, writer Vladimir Besleaga, editor Calina Trifan and a 12-year-old pupil Nica-Margo Cemârtan, the author of the illustrations inserted in the book, which perfectly show the work of Gianni Rodari.  “The work appeared with the support of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry from Italy and the Embassy of Italy in Moldova,” Deleu noted.    

In her greeting message, the director of the National Library, Elena Pintilei, stressed that the event was a part of a range of actions dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage.   

Attending the event was Italian Ambassador to Moldova Her Excellency Valeria Biagiotti, who thanked for the efforts made to promote the Italian language and culture.   

In the end of the event, piano player Raffaele Scognamiglio presented a programme of Italian music and a vocal choral band of the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University sang Italian sentimental songs.
