Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ - If we want the disorder to be ended in Chisinau and have a European capital, we must everybody go out to vote; yet, representatives of the Party of Socialists and Liberal Party in the last years have lost their moral right to manage the capital. The spokesman for the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), Vitalie Gamurari, made statements to this effect following a weekly meeting of PDM today.

According to Gamurari, PDM comes up with an appeal to all Chisinau residents who want a change to everybody go out to vote, if they want a European capital.

“PDM from the very beginning came up with the proposal that the pro-European parties sit down at the table of negotiations and reach common mind to put forward a single candidate for the office of capital’s mayor. The parties which declare themselves pro-European eventually have not managed to nominate a single person and attacked each other, each one trying to promote its own candidate. Following this scenario, PDM ruled to some up with an appeal to the voters, its members and supporters, as well as to all those willing a change in Chisinau to go to vote in order to show that we care,” Gamurari said.

Gamurari noted that the voters must understand a thing: that according to their work in the last years, there are two parties which have no moral right to pretend to ever lead the capital. “It is about the Party of Socialists and Liberal Party,” Gamurari said.

New local polls will be held in the Chisinau and Balti municipalities on 20 May. Twelve candidates have registered in the race for the Chisinau mayor office, one of whom has been recently excluded.
