Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - The First Home 2 programme has been subjected to public discussions and might be made operational starting from next June. Finance Minister Octavian Armasu has made statements to this effect at a TV programme.

According to the minister, 20 million lei was provided for in the budget for the First Home 2 programme; yet, this sum could be adjusted, if necessary.

“This year, we can subsidize about 2,200 people. If the demand is higher than we believed, budgetary employees remain in queue and immediately, in January 2019, they will be subsidized,” Armasu said.

The official specified that young people who have been working in state’s institutions for at least one year and do not have disciplinary sanctions were eligible for the First Home 2 programme. If a person is transferred from one state institution to another, he/she continues to benefit from this subsidy; it is important that they work in the public sector; it they go to work in private institutions, then it is at their own expense.

“If the person paid the loan in advance, it means that his/her financial situation has improved and, respectively, the state will cease his/her subsidization,” Armasu noted.

Within the First Home 2 programme, the state compensates, by a non-refundable assistance, a half of the value of the real estate purchased by employees of the state structures. The payment of the other half and of interests is to be made by the employee. The rules of participation in the programme are almost identical with the ones from the First Home programme. Any dwelling made available for living can be bought, no matter whether it is in the village or city; yet, its cost must not exceed 500,000 lei.
