Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/- The well-known journalist and TV commentator, Valeriu Renita, became the winner of an international contest for Russian authors “Best Book”, 2018 issue, held in Frankfurt, Germany. The title of excellence was given for the novel-parable “Chromosome XXI”.

“I am delighted for appreciation of experts from abroad”, Renita said. “It is a confirmation of the positive qualities of the novel, commented by the critics and writers of our country”. Renita, who has published three books of literature so far, said he is now working on the fourth.

Poet Olesea Rudeaghin, head of the Russian Writers’ Association of Moldova, praised the novel as “a rare lyrical attitude towards some horrible things that happen in Moldova”. Boris Marian, a writer and translator, noted that it is about “a Russian language book with a deep Moldovan national character”. Literary critic Alexandra Iunco  said “such a novel could be written by a man with a particular sensitivity of social equity and a rare responsibility for people and country”.

Renita was born in 1959 in Horjesti village, Hancesti. He started in 1990 with two short prose texts in Romanian. Currently he is employed by the “Mir” TV channel.
