Chisinau to host meeting of Moldovan – Belarus intergovernmental commission of commercial – economic collaboration

Chisinau, 06 June /MOLDPRES/ – The 19th Moldovan-Belarus intergovernmental commission of commercial and economic collaboration will meet in Chisinau on 07 June. The Delegation of Moldova will be headed by Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, and Belarus – deputy PM of Belarus, Mihail Rusii.

According to the MEI’s information and media communication service, talks will focus on commercial – economic and agro – industrial cooperation, as well as liberalisation of transport, allowing freight carriers to move freely and without restrictions. The parties will also discuss subsequent signing of Agreement on Liberalisation of air transport and freight transport, which will intensify bilateral relations and increase trade between Moldova and Belarus.

Also, Protocol on commercial – economic cooperation will be signed within commission. The parties will establish agenda for the future Moldovan – Belarus intergovernmental commission, to be held in Minsk in 2019.

On 05 June, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) in cooperation with Embassy of Belarus in Moldova relaunched direct route Chisinau – Minsk. The routes to Minsk will start every Tuesday and Friday at 17:30, at Gara de Nord (The northern bus – station). The ticket price is MDL 1200.

There are 91 enterprises with a capital of MDL 3.78 million in Moldova. The volume of foreign trade of Moldova with Belarus in 2017 amounted $224.67 million, up 9.69 per cent compared to 2016. Belarus is among top 10 trading partners of Moldova.
