Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law on amending and supplementing the Law no. 294/2007 on political parties will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 15 June.

The new provisions stipulate that 40 percent of the total allowances will be distributed to political parties in proportion to the performance in the parliamentary elections. Another 40 percent, for the performance in local elections. 10% will benefit proportionally the political parties that will respect the quota of at least 40% women candidates submitted in all uninominal constituencies in the parliamentary elections and 5% - the parties with the number of women elected as MP on uninominal constituencies. 5% will benefit political parties in proportion to the young people elected in the parliamentary and local elections.

At the same time, the percentage quota allocated from the state budget remains unchanged and cannot exceed 0.2% of the state budget revenues, except for the special purpose revenues.

Another provision refers to the fact that a private person, during a budget year, can make cash donations to political parties up to three average monthly salaries set for that year. Donations exceeding this limit will be made exclusively through bank operations.

The new way of distributing money will be implemented from 1 January 2019. At present, the distribution of financial means to finance political parties is made 50% - to political parties in proportion to the results achieved in parliamentary elections and another 50% to political parties in proportion to performance achieved in general local elections.
