Heavy rains of recent days affected several localities

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/-Heavy rains of recent days have affected roads and households in several localities in the south and the center of the country.

Press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Puşcaşu said that on weekends the rescuers and firemen were alerted for intervention in the Tocuz and Ukrainian villages of Căuşeni district, where rainfall caused more damage.

"In Ucrainca locality the rain destroyed four bridges, including one connecting the village and Tocuz. By 12.00 hours on June 17, rescuers together with employees from the company Causeni managed restore access roads to the village. The rescuers also monitored the situation of the water basins near these localities where the water level had risen significantly," she said.

The committees for emergencies work to estimate material damage caused by rain.

According to meteorologists, the sky will remain cloudy over the next few days throughout the country, and the air temperature will be up to 28 degrees Celsius.
