Three girls from Grigoriopol district drowned in Dniester River

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/- Three girls, aged 11, 12 and 15, from Grigoriopol district drowned in the Dniester River. Victims, with permission from their parents, started picking cherries, but in the evening they did not return home.
According to the so-called interior ministry of Transnistria, the tragedy occurred on 19 June. Minors were friends and lived in Butor village, Grigoriopol district.
The Transnistrian authorities have started searches. They found the girls’ clothing and shoes on the bank of the Dniestre river. As a result of searches, the bodies were found in the water near the village of India, Grigoriopol district.
In this context, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) reiterates its warning and urges the population to swim only in aquatic pools set up with rescue stations and not to go deeper. At the same time, parents are asked to strictly monitor their children and not allow them to bathe without supervision.
Also, employees of the Inspectorate warn people not to drink alcohol when they go bathing. In the event of risk situations, IGSU requests that the emergency number 112 be called.
