French company issues over 75,000 meal vouchers meant for Moldovan employees

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - The French company Edenred has put into circulation over 75,000 meal vouchers with a nominal value of about three million lei in the first two months of work. This was possible under contracts with enterprises from Moldova, which offered their employees an extra-salary benefit.

According to a press release issued for mass media, in April 2018, the company built the biggest network of affiliated traders, with more than 1,300 commercial units all over Moldova, based on agreements with food stores and restaurants, where meal vouchers can be used.

Edenred also plans to launch electronic meal vouchers in several weeks.

The initiative on producing meal vouchers belongs to Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu. They will be used in canteens, coffee houses, restaurants and to buy food products in shops. Employers who provide employees with meal vouchers, will be exempted from the payment of salary taxes. The nominal value of one meal voucher will be 45 lei; the vouchers are to be issued both on paper and in electronic format.
