Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - The implementation of a draft on primary medicine, which establishes that the family physicians will be able to switch to individual practice, will be initiated in rural settlements and will be subsequently extended to district centres. Prime Minister Pavel Filip today made statements to this effect after a meeting of the ruling coalition.

Filip noted that this draft was meant to provide a solution in the case of lack of physicians in villages. “This is an alternative medical activity of the present system, based on a sound competition. It is important that you know that doctors will act exactly in the same conditions and exigencies which are towards the physicians who work in the present system,” the PM said.

The prime minister also said that, following the reform, good doctors would have more patients and would earn more money. “The goal is to provide quality medical services in each village of Moldova,” Pavel Filip said.

The PM voiced hope that the draft on primary medicine would be analyzed and approved by the parliament till the end of the current parliamentary session.

The cabinet adopted the document on 20 July 2018.
