Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ The factions of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Party of Communists (PCRM) and Liberal Party (PL) today walked out of the parliament’s session hall as a token of protest against the introduction on the agenda of the draft laws on fiscal reform.

PLDM MP Iurie Tap said that ‘’the decision was taken as a protest against the haste with which the drafts on fiscal reform have been included.’’

For his part, PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin noted that ‘’the Communists’ faction walks out of the parliament’s session hall, thus protesting against the illegal things which would take place in parliament.’’

In a short time, a PL lawmaker, Alina Zotea, said that the Liberals’ faction was also leaving the session hall. In the beginning of the today’s plenary meeting, PL leader Mihai Ghimpu said that ‘’the faction condemns the haste with which the drafts are approved, as the lawmakers have not managed to analyze the provisions included in the documents.’’ At the same time, a proposal was made to exclude the drafts from the agenda; the request was turned down after voting.

Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said that the drafts included in the fiscal reform were to be adopted for the good of the citizens, as the people’s incomes will increase. ‘’These documents provide for the diminution of taxes, increase in exemptions, more facilities for the business environment, voluntary declaration of assets and bringing the non-declared assets to the real economy. All these amendments are expected by the citizens and the business environment for a long time,’’ Candu said.

The MPs of the Democratic Party and European People’s Party of Moldova remained at the plenary meeting.
