Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The vehicles non-registered in Moldova will pay the road tax at the entrance into country, according to legislative amendments adopted by the parliament in the final reading today.

The document sees the imposing of the road tax for the non-registered vehicles at the entrance into Moldova and replacing the current system of taxes for the use of roads at the country’s entrance and transiting.

The stipulation regards the following types of transport: mini-busses, busses, lories and tows.

The new mechanism of taxation provides for cutting the tax for the use of roads of Moldova for the vehicles non-registered in Moldova, depending on the period of their stay on the territory of the country and the category of the road vehicle.

The road tax is proposed to be with a validity term of one day, 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, 90 days, 180 days and 12 months. The road tax’s validity period starts at 0:00 of the day requested and expires at 24:00 of the last day of the period for which it was paid.

Also, decision-makers changed the schedule of road transport concerning the introduction of a new route, extension of the route, increase in the number of routes, introduction of stops or modification of the hours of the movement schedule. Thus, the document stipulates the entrance/exit of foreign road transport operators in Moldova as transit or destination country only based on the bilateral or multilateral unitary authorizations of road transport of goods or persons, according to the obligations of the international treaties Moldova is party to.
