Moldova detaches military attache to USA for the first time ever

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Defence Ministry has detached a military attaché to the United States of America for the first time ever. The ministry’s leadership took the decision for the promotion of the strategic dialogue on the defence dimension between Moldova and the USA.

According to the defence ministry, a military diplomat, Vitalie Micov, will be in charge of ensuring an efficient cooperation between the defence structures of Moldova and the USA, identifying new opportunities of development and improving the partnership between Moldova’s National Army and the Armed Forces of the United States.

Defence Minister Eugen Sturza met the military attaché before his detaching to Washington and wished him success in exercising his mandate. Sturza said that the USA was a strategic partner for Moldova and the strengthening of the cooperation relation on the military segment represents a priority for the Defence Ministry.  

„The vast experience you have gained in the command structures of the National Army and the education you have, including in the USA, will help you establish an efficient communication with American partners, which will materialize through new beneficial projects and initiatives for both armies,” Sturza added.
