Fines for poaching to increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - The fines for the violation of the legislation as to the hunting fund and protection of hunt will be toughened. The parliament voted a draft law to this effect in the first reading today.
The initiative belongs to MP Anatolie Gorila and provides for the creation, based on a single national hunting fund, of more networks of specialized hunting funds, which are to include the forest-type funds and their transmission to the management of the Society of Hunters and Fishers from Moldova, Moldsilva Forestry Agency, specialized education institutions.
The document also establishes possibility of giving the succession right for a long-term use of hunt animals to the users who have earlier practiced this activity and take every responsibility for the protection of animals.
The draft also sees the toughening of punishments in the case of infringements, including many-fold higher fines the present ones, confiscation of poaching instruments, transport, holding guilty persons administratively liable and bringing them to account for poaching.
