Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall has purchased five vacuum cleaners and five trailers for collecting and transporting leaves, and by middle this week, the vegetable waste will be stored at the Pruncul street platform. The head of the general housing and planning department, Ion Burdiumov, made the statement today.

“All the new technique amounted to 3.8 million lei. We try to deal with and systematically evacuate the leaves. So far, the leaves were collected manually. We plan to install a composting plant on the territory of the platform, which will be operational next year. The compost will be used in the parks and public gardens in the capital,” he said.

The head urged citizens not to throw waste in heaps of leaves. “Some are used to take old furniture, which makes it harder for us to work. At the same time, those who light the leaves in the yard risk fines of up to 9,000 lei, "said Ion Burdiumov.

For his part, Codreanu demanded that all leaves of the city be evacuated within three days. "So far, the collection was done manually, from now on it will be done with special vacuum cleaners. We hope that in this way, the process will be more effective, " he said.

Economic agents are warned about the storage of leaves, but unfortunately not all of them comply. Thus, last week, 23 reports were drawn up on the matter, and a committee conducts systematic checks.
