Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/- About three thousand employees of Moldova Railways company (CFM) will have higher wages starting from May 2019. Company director-general Iurii Topala made the statement to this effect.

Employees with the lowest wage coefficient, including workers involved in train movements and repair of rolling stock will benefit from wage increase.

Iuria Topala said the increase in wages was made possible after the company's receipts increased as a result of the increase in the number of wagons and their repair over the last two years. He noted that the company's administration has repaired over 400 wagons that risked getting scrapped, and this brought a profit of more than 7 million lei in March.

Also, he said that in the coming period, he plans to attract other economic agents to choose CFM services and repair several wagons. "These actions will make it possible to increase salary of other categories of employees," Topala concluded.

Previously, wages for train drivers were increased. At present, the average salary per enterprise reaches 4,800 lei and the CFM salary fund is almost 40 million lei.

The company has about 7,600 employees.
