Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova considers that, within the process of reflections on the future of the Eastern Partnership (EaP), the associate partners and European Union are to work out a common vision on the future of the cooperation, which is to be based on current aspirations, ambitions and needs. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi has made statements to this effect at the ministerial meeting of the Eastern Partnership, held on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of EaP’s launch, in Brussels, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.

Minister Tudor Ulianovschi noted that the reforms carried out in the last ten years had made the Eastern neighbours stronger and more prepared for the future; yet, a new level of cooperation between EU and the neighbour partners is needed for the continuous progress, especially the development of the dialogue between the three partners associated with EU on subjects of common interest.

In the context, the Moldovan diplomacy head spoke out for paying increased attention to the cooperation in the security sector, implementing projects on energy connectivity and in the transports field, backing the development of services’ sector, as well as the promotion of the good governance.

Summing up the discussions held at the ministerial meeting, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini issued a declaration, which reads that “our achievements, such as the increased trade, consolidated political association, economic integration and sectoral cooperation between EU and the interested partner countries will serve as an inspiration for the continuous progress in the long run, based on mutual interests, needs, common priorities and a sustainable implementation of reforms. We should continue a structured reflection and get involved into a wide process of consultations and including about the agenda of our future cooperation, especially in order to ensure the substantial preparations for the next EaP Summit in due time. We must prove out common determination to develop the agenda of the Partnership after 2020, making sure that we will remain stronger together.”
