Moldova, Belarus to sign administrative arrangement for implementation of Agreement on social security

Chisinau, 01 August /MOLDPRES/ – At the meeting on 01 August, the Government has approved the decision on signing of the Administrative Arrangement on application of the Agreement between Moldova and Belarus on social security. The arrangement is a secondary instrument, having the role of implementing the Agreement.

The respective document determines the competent institutions of contracting states and the way of their collaboration, right to benefits as well as the exchange of statistical data, info and forms. The arrangement will be applied from the date of entry into force of the Agreement and have the same validity.

Also, the provisions of both the Agreement and the Arrangement create favourable conditions for migrants from Moldova to return home, because at the retirement age they will be able to benefit under the Agreement on the social security rights acquired in Belarus on the territory of Moldova. In Belarus there are 3,500 persons originating in Moldova, out of which 2,795 are citizens of Moldova.

The Republic of Moldova has so far concluded social security agreements with 13 member states of EU and, for the moment, 12 implementation agreements, these having a successful application, notes the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS).
