National food safety agency initiates food checks in educational institutions of Moldova

Chisinau, 07 August /MOLDPRES/ – The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has taken a series of measures to prevent the delivery of non – compliant food products to the general education institutions in Moldova.
It has initiated checks at educational institutions in Chisinau, as well as in other localities of Moldova. In particular, the inspectors of subdivisions in the territory of the institution verify the reception process, expiration periods and conditions of storage of products. Also, at the border health – veterinary control points, the imported food consignments are subjected to a more thorough control.
Also, the specialists of ANSA carry out checks in warehouses of suppliers, which duty is to keep the requirements and ensure the optimum conditions for storing and delivering the products intended for feeding of children.
"The checks carried out have the purpose of excluding non – compliant products from food and which present a danger to the health of children", explained sources from ANSA.
The agency authorised itself, following the signals received, at the beginning of this week, to the Presidency of Moldova, regarding the delivery to a kindergarten in Chisinau of a batch of altered products.
