Moldovan parliament approves new rules for work of school headmasters

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - The heads of the education institutions and teachers with leadership positions will be able to carry out teaching activity within the 0.5 limit of the didactic norm. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect today.

Under the draft, the legislation’s amendment is urgent and is meant to solve the immediate problem which emerged at the education institutions, where more managers give up their offices and return to the teaching activity. The branch trade unions also submitted a demand in this respect.

At present, according to the legal provisions, the headmasters and the deputy headmasters can carry out teaching activity within the limit of 0.25 of the didactic norm. The concerned law is provided for in the law on the unitary system of wage payment in the budgetary sector, approved by the parliament in 2018.
