Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ – The methodology for conferring and confirming scientific titles in Moldova will be published in the Official Journal, on Friday, 01 November. The document establishes a new way of conferring and confirming the scientific titles, stipulated in the Education Code (CE) and Code on science and innovation (CSI).

According to new methodology, the institutions that organise postdoctoral programmes and doctoral studies will confer the title of PhD or doctor habilitate and submit to the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (ANACEC) the file for confirmation of scientific degrees. In order to confer scientific titles, each university or research institute will develop its own institutional regulation.

For confirmation of scientific titles by ANACEC, there are several stages, including evaluation of file, examination within a commission of profile of results of evaluation of thesis/synthesis paper and confirmation of scientific title or rejection of decision to confer it.

The file examination for confirmation of scientific titles within the Agency will not exceed 04 months from the moment of registration.

Also, the Agency will develop a national electronic platform for thesis and synthesis papers support process in Moldova, which will ensure the electronic transmission of documents and info required within title confirmation process, as well as online transmissions of public support of PhD thesis. Also, the Agency will ensure the functionality at the national level of anti – plagiarism software for verification of the enabled PhD thesis.
