Moldovan cabinet led by Maia Sandu holds last meeting

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet led by Maia Sandu held its last meeting today, after it had been dismissed by the parliament through motion of censure two days ago.   

At the meeting, the government approved the dismissal of Andrei Spinu from the office of cabinet’s secretary general, based on the application on resignation.  

At the same time, the cabinet of ministers accepted the resignation of two state secretaries from the Health Labour and Social Protection Ministry. It is about Alexandru Voloc and Ion Dodon.   

Also today, the acting government approved a draft providing for the distribution of 484.1 million lei of the allocations provided for in the 2019 state budget to the local public authorities of both levels, in order to partially cover the expenses for the enforcement of the law on the single salary payment system in the public sector.  

„It seems that this was the last meeting of this cabinet. It was an honour and a pleasure for me to work with you. You are a wonderful team. I thank you for what have you done for the citizens; I thank you for the fact that we have managed to work as a team and I encourage you to work in continuation in the interest of the citizens,” Maia Sandu said at the end of the meeting.  

The cabinet led by Maia Sandu was dismissed through motion of censure on 12 November. The motion was backed by 63 MPs of the Party of Socialists and Democratic Party. On 13 November evening, President Igor Dodon nominated Ion Chicu as candidate for the office of prime minister. Chicu unveiled the government’s action programme and the list of ministers in parliament today.
