Moldovan, European officials broach projects, cooperation

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea on 12 February met with Head of Confidence Building Measures Division of the Council of Europe Anna Capello, accompanied by Head of Council of Europe Office in Moldova William Massolin and political adviser Myrtia Murgia, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

Anna Capello approached the projects implemented and planned to be carried out with the support of the CoE in the health care, prevention of drug addiction and rehabilitation of dependence on them, media and education.

Flenchea welcomed the projects and voiced willingness to promote them, noting that Chisinau priority is to expand public services for residents of the Transnistrian region, human rights and fundamental freedoms of people living on both banks of the Dniestre.

At the end of the talks, Capello thanked for the constructive dialogue and suggested ideas, such as the need to involve in the projects aimed at preventing drug use the people who promote policies in the area, to emphasize the edition Youth summer camp for 2020 on civic education of young people through parliamentary simulation exercises, and on the need to depoliticize the training activities / experience exchange of specialists on both banks of the Dniester by excluding the representatives of the negotiating offices from Chisinau and Tiraspol. Also, assurances have been given that efforts will continue to be made to increase human contacts and to bring the inhabitants from both banks of the Dniester closer, as well as the implementation of universal and European standards in the human rights.
