New food system to be set up in educational institutions in Chisinau

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/- Deputy mayor of Chisinau Angela Cutasevici said today at the meeting of the city hall services that the municipality will set up a new concept in the food system of the educational institutions in the capital.

According to the official, it is about setting a common system of food procurement for school canteens, as well as standardization of menus and prices in canteens of municipal educational institutions. "We intend to modernize the five food plants subordinated to the Chisinau city hall," said Cutasevici.

The official said that rethinking management system of school and high school canteens also involves the rethinking of food purchases so that spoiled products do not appear on the table of preschoolers or schoolchildren. "There will be a new structure to purchase centrally food for existing kitchens in municipal educational institutions," said Cutasevici.

The elaboration of the new concept of nutrition in the municipal educational institutions was made with the support of UNDP Moldova.
