Chisinau, 13 August /MOLDPRES/- The government has approved and will submit to the parliament for examination a draft law for ratifying the Loan Framework Agreement between Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) for the implementation of the project Emergency response to COVID-19 and support for small and medium-sized enterprises”, signed on 29 July 2020. The decision in this regard will be published in the Official Journal on 14 August.

The Ministry of Finance of Moldova and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe have signed a 70 million- euro loan agreement to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on health and employment. The loan is divided into two components: health and support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Forty million euros will be provided for the health component.

Another 30 million euros will be offered as Support for micro, small and medium enterprises. Financial resources will provide financing for working capital and investment needs of SMEs affected by the crisis, helping them to maintain viable jobs.
