Parliamentary committee to elucidate Russian money laundering

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/- The parliament will set up the Commission of Inquiry to elucidate all circumstances that led to the “laundering” of dirty money in particularly large proportions through the courts and financial-banking institutions of the Republic of Moldova. A decision to this effect was taken today by the legal committee on rules and immunities.

According to the draft, the commission of inquiry will involve all responsible state authorities in its work and hear the parties and persons involved. Within 90 days, it will present to the parliament the report on elucidating the circumstances on the laundering of particularly large amounts of dirty money through the courts and financial-banking institutions of the Republic of Moldova starting with 2010.

The commission will have nine members, MPs from all parliamentary factions. The draft decision is to be debated at parliament's plenary session.
