Fine artist celebrates 65th anniversary today

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/- Painter Tudor Zbârnea, general director of the National Museum of Art of Moldova, winner of the National Prize, celebrates today his 65th anniversary.

According to the vice-president of the Union of Fine Artists of Moldova, Florina Breazu, the subjects in the author's painting tell us about the essences and origins of mankind, framed in a language that refers to the latest forms of plastic expression. The artist manages to unite the poles, the beginning and the present, highlighting the primordial unity, the endless cycle of time and university.

He was a painter-decorator at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, deputy head of the Culture Department of the Chisinau City Hall (1990-1992), director of the Cultural Heritage, Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture (1992-1994). In 1994-2000 he lived and worked in Bucharest, Romania. From 2002 until now he is the general director of the National Museum of Art of Moldova.

Tudor Zbârnea is the winner of numerous awards, medals, trophies in various international and national art competitions and salons, including: the Ministry of Culture Award, the National Competition in Fine Arts, Chisinau (2010); Grand Gold Medal, M. C. A. International Prestige Grand Prix at Cannes (2009, 2010); honorary title Master in Art (2009); Vicolo Poldo Trophy, 35th edition, Como, Italy (2009) etc. In 2014 he was awarded the National Prize of the Republic of Moldova. In 2017 he was elected a member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and in 2018 - member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg, Austria.
