Chisinau Electric Transport Administration puts into circulation 15 relatively new trolley buses

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Electric Transport Administration has informed that those 15 trolley buses with distance covered, purchased in Latvia, would be put into circulation today.    

The Chisinau Electric Transport Administration today presented the 15 trolley buses, out of those 25 ones, with distance covered, bought in Riga, Latvia, noting that they would be put on diverse routes today. Five of these transport means are articulated trolley buses and 20 are classical ones. The trolley buses are endowed with low floor and hinged platform for the access of people with special needs, air conditioning systems and have video cameras for supervising inside.  

The director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Administration, Dorin Ciornii, said that, under the action plan for the next four years, no old trolley buses would move in Chisinau till 2024. According to Ciornii, till late next February, the urban park of trolley buses will receive another 30 new trolley buses from Belarus. 

Those five articulated trolley buses procured in Riga are of the model Ganz Solaris Trollino 18, with a capacity of 170 places; the other 20 classical trolley buses are of the model ŠKODA 24 Tr and have a capacity of 99 places. There are another 110 transport means in the urban park of trolley buses, the exploitation term of which has expired.  The Chisinau Electric Transport Administration has 400 trolley buses in all.
