Register of unavailable criminal assets to be implemented in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/- The Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets of the National Anticorruption Center will administer a single register, which will contain general information on the country of the seized criminal assets.

According to CNA, prosecutors, bailiffs, the State Tax Service and courts will send information about unavailable criminal assets, confiscated and recovered to ARBI, which will include them in the Single Register of Unavailable Criminal Assets. The register has been recently notified to the Center for Personal Data Protection and received a positive opinion for implementation.

The use of the database will increase the level of information security, data integrity, will ensure the history of changes regarding the application and lifting of seizures. It will also increase the efficiency of the activity of CNA employees in the processes of recovery of criminal assets.

Both the technical concept and the register database were worked out and implemented with the support of the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe Control of law enforcement and prevention. Previously, the record of assets seized by the Agency was ensured through electronic documents.
