Lyceum from central Moldova town to undergo energy optimization with EU's support

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - The construction works for the improvement of the energy efficiency services at the Ion Vatamanu lyceum from the Straseni town were started on 9 February. The goal of this project, financed by the European Union, is to supply the pupils and teachers of the institution with better conditions for education.   

The constructions works within the project will include: renovation of the roof and insulation of the building’s exterior walls; replacing the windows and rehabilitation of the interior heating system; supply with domestic hot water and renovation of the institution’s interior sanitary units.

The overall value of the project, Enhancement of the energy efficiency of the Ion Vatamanu lyceum from the Straseni town, is of 1.2 million euros, of which 1.1 million euros is provided by EU and 102,000 euros is the local contribution.

It is implemented in cooperation with the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, which is managed by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova), in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and is financially backed by the government of Germany.
