General Prosecutor's Office announced priorities for this year

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/- The General Prosecutor's Office has announced its priorities for this year. They have been systematized in five areas.
According to a communiqué issued by the institution, in 2021, on the judicial segment, the prosecution will insist on: reducing the phenomenon of delaying the trial of criminal cases in courts, boosting application of special procedures to examine criminal cases in court; continuing the process of identifying criminal cases with a political or customary nature and taking legal measures to restore the mentioned persons; counteracting the abusive phenomenon of instrumentation and legal classification, according to Article190 of the Criminal Code, of the facts resulting from the non-execution by the parties of civil obligations, review of criminal cases both in the criminal prosecution phase and in trial.
Among the priorities for 2021 is the implementation of the new mechanism for evaluating cases with irrevocable decisions to acquit defendants or terminate criminal proceedings on grounds of non-rehabilitation and intensify the institutional dialogue with the Government Agent to formulate the position of the Republic of Moldova before the European Court of Human Rights.
