Four pre-trial detention facilities in Moldoba renovated

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/- Last month, the activity of four temporary detention isolators within Police Inspectorates of Soroca, Comrat, Anenii Noi and Bălți was reopened. They have been renovated and modernized in accordance with international standards.

According to police, about 15 million lei had been invested to renovate the buildings, money provided by the European Union.

The renovated isolators have video monitoring systems, internal cell communication (intercom type), radiation, fire safety and other conditions, including personal hygiene, which guarantees respect for the rights, security and safety of persons deprived of their liberty.

Also, they they are equipped with modern control systems that help the police in carrying out the mission of guarding and protecting detainees, requesting help, by triggering the audible alarm through several options.
