Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Ethnography and Natural History Museum (MNEIN) and the Bessarabian Literary Soiree Community today opened for public an exhibition titled, The Shirt of Union, organized in the context of the 103rd anniversary of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the exhibition’s curator, Varvara Buzila said that the exhibition comprised 24 men’s shirts and one women’s shirt. The exhibition has in its focus the shirt weaved and sewed, having as source of inspiration the shirt worn by Elena Alistar - a woman who voted for the Act of Union, along with those 85 men, on 27 March 1918.

According to Buzila, at the same time, this is the first exhibition of men’s shirts in the cultural space of Moldova. They were sewed in the last three years according to authentic and original models, with maximal consideration for the sector’s artistic wealth.

The exhibition will be opened till 10 May 2021.
