Moldovan fine artist celebrates 65th birthday

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/- Fine artist Valeriu Kurtu, based in Berlin, Germany, winner of several national and international competitions, celebrates his 65th birthday today.
As a screenwriter and director, he has created seven animated films. As a painter-producer, he worked on two comedy films produced at Buciumul Studio. At the same time, he published cartoons in magazines and humorous newspapers in Europe.
In 1994, already a well-known painter, he moved to Berlin.
Becoming one of the most representative cartoonists, known in several countries of the world, with highly appreciated personal exhibitions (including in the USA, Germany, Russia, Romania), he is constantly invited, as an expert, in the jury of international caricature exhibitions: in Trento, Ankona, Marostica (Italy), Tehran (Iran), Bursa and Istanbul (Turkey), Baku (Azerbaijan), Vasilevka (Ukraine). He organized personal exhibitions in Chisinau and Ungheni (2016, 2018).
His works have been purchased by Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow (Russia), the Cartoon Museum in Basel (Switzerland), the Cartoon Museum in Vianden (Luxembourg), the National Museum of Art of Moldova, the Museum of Kyoto University (Japan).
